When we announced the Chef Board of Governance (CBGB) in late 2015, our aims were to:
Over the past 24 months, we’ve found that the Chef community, assisted by the CBGB, has brought itself to a point where communication and feedback is much more robust and direct. A major change has been the increased accessibility and user friendliness of both Slack and Discourse compared to what we had previously, enabling more of our user base to get immediate support and to talk to more of us.
The RFC process has matured greatly in the past two years, and has seen a wide range of topics discussed, from how the community hugs each other, to management of community cookbooks, to defining how frequently Chef is released. The weekly meetings also provide space for community members to bring up concerns and showcase what’s being worked on.
It’s become clear to the CBGB that the original concerns have been mostly addressed, which gives us an opportunity to look forward.
The CBGB has not officially met since 2016 so is all but closed. We are now officially closing the CBGB.
