Chef Bolsters Executive Team To Position Company For Long-Term Growth

Curt Anderson Joins Chef as CFO, Tucker Callaway Joins Chef as VP of Enterprise Sales, and Tom Murphy Joins Chef as VP of Services

SEATTLE – December 9, 2013 – Chef™ (formerly Opscode), IT automation for speed and awesomeness, today announced three new executive appointments during a period of accelerating company growth. Curt Anderson joins Chef as CFO, having most recently served as CFO for Microsoft’s Manufacturing and Supply Chain Division. Tucker Callaway, who previously served as CA Technologies’ VP of Americas for the Growth Market, joins Chef as VP of Enterprise. And Tom Murphy, who previously served as VP of Customer Success at Apptio, joins Chef as VP of Services.

Chef also announced today that it has secured $32 Million in Series D funding (see separate release) to fuel the company’s rapid growth.

Anderson will report directly to Chef CEO Barry Crist, while Callaway and Murphy will report to Chef’s SVP of Customer Operations Paul Edelhertz.

Chef Deepens Enterprise Pedigree

Anderson brings more than 20 years of finance, marketing and operations experience to his role as Chef CFO, where he will lead Finance, HR, and Legal teams. Prior to Chef, he held a range of executive positions at Microsoft, including, most recently, serving as CFO for the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Group. In that role, he oversaw financial planning, operations and controls for the end-to-end physical and digital supply chains for all of Microsoft’s hardware and software products. He also spent time at Microsoft as CFO of Server and Tools division, where he was responsible for the financial management of more than $20 billion in annual revenue. Prior to Microsoft, he led a variety of marketing and finance initiatives at Amazon.com.

Callaway joins Chef with 15 years of enterprise operations and customer experience. Before coming to Chef, he served as VP of Enterprise Sales for [24]7 Inc. Prior to [24]7 Inc., Callaway was CA Technologies’ VP of Americas for the Growth Market, successfully transitioning CA Technologies’ Nimsoft Division from a traditional bookings-based sales model to a Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) model that significantly increased license revenue year-over-year (YoY). He previously served as Regional VP for CA Technologies. And, earlier in his career, he held various sales leadership positions at CA Technologies, Mercury Interactive, and HP Software.

Murphy comes to Chef with more than 15 years of experience in building, leading and expanding global services practices focused on enterprise software solutions. Before joining Chef, he served as VP of Customer Success for Context Relevant. Prior to Context Relevant, Murphy was Apptio’s VP of Customer Success, where he grew his team from three to more than 40 solution delivery professionals and increased annual services revenue from less than $100,000 to nearly $10 million. Before leading Apptio’s customer service team, Murphy held executive positions at Integrian and Mercury Interactive.
