Open Source Ticket Triage

In May we formed an internal group for open source ticket triage. It was populated with Opscode employees who had different backgrounds and roles but one thing in common: they volunteered to participate because they loved open source. In about 20 meetings, we have triaged over 325 tickets!

Chef 0.10.4 Released

We’re excited to reach another Opscode Chef release, this time with over 85 resolved bugs. The gems are in the usual place. We’re also happy that this time the Debian/Ubuntu packages are available upon release. Head over to the installation page on the community wiki if you’re not familiar with these steps.

Chef 0.10.2 + 0.9.18 Debian/Ubuntu Packages

The main Opscode apt repository has been updated with packages for Debian and Ubuntu for the Opscode Chef release versions 0.10.2 and 0.9.18. Installation instructions are in the usual place on the wiki. Remember that we keep the 0.9 and 0.10 branches separate in the repository: For Chef 0.10.

Ohai 0.6.4 released

We have a maintenance release of Ohai for you today. Josh Pasqualetto found a regression in the EC2 plugin that was preventing nested data from being collected and provided the important fix. That makes him the MVP for this release! Thanks for getting right on that Josh.

Chef 0.9.16 and Ohai 0.6.2 Debian packages available

Deb packages for Chef 0.9.16 and Ohai 0.6.2, as well as the necessary dependencies that are not included in the distributions, have been uploaded to the Debian repository on apt.opscode.com. Chef 0.9.14 Released

We’re excited to release Chef 0.9.14, with over 65 resolved bugs and improvements. With 0.10.0 right around the corner, we have been spending some extra time triaging tickets lately. Functionality changes and major new features are heading into 0.10 while 0.9 will continue forward as our stable branch for three months after 0.10.0 is released.
