Dell OpenStack Cloud Solution

Earlier this morning at OSCON, our friends at Dell launched an exciting new offering, the Dell OpenStack Cloud Solution.  Dell’s new offering includes a reference architecture based on Dell PowerEdge C Series servers and incorporates the Crowbar software framework (with Chef built in!) for the deployment and management of OpenStack clouds.

Chef 0.10.2 and 0.9.18 released!

Chef 0.10.2 and 0.9.18 have been released on RubyGems. This is a critical security update to Chef Server and it is recommended that all open-source Chef Server users upgrade as soon as possible. Users of Opscode’s Hosted Chef and Private Chef are not affected. For those unable to upgrade the patch is available on GitHub.

Ohai 0.6.4 released

We have a maintenance release of Ohai for you today. Josh Pasqualetto found a regression in the EC2 plugin that was preventing nested data from being collected and provided the important fix. That makes him the MVP for this release! Thanks for getting right on that Josh.

Chef 0.9.16 and Ohai 0.6.2 Debian packages available

Deb packages for Chef 0.9.16 and Ohai 0.6.2, as well as the necessary dependencies that are not included in the distributions, have been uploaded to the Debian repository on apt.opscode.com. Instructions regarding how to use this repository can be found on the wiki. This update provides packages for the distribution releases listed below.
