Chef 10.16.6 Security Release

We've released version 10.16.6 of Chef. The only change in this release is that chef-server-api and chef-server-webui have changed their dependency on the extlib gem to require at least version 0.9.16. This change patches a potential vulnerability similar to the vulnerability recently disclosed and fixed in rails.

We’ve got a special holiday Chef bug-fix release for you today. Updated packages are in the usual places. First, this release sets a requirement that moneta be below the newly rewritten 0.7.0 version because that versions API changed and currently breaks Chef.

Test Kitchen 0.7.0 Released

We have released Test Kitchen version 0.7.0. This release brings some important new features and improvements we’d like to tell you about in more detail. OpenStack Runner The first new feature is an Openstack runner. We have an OpenStack build cluster for our Jenkins jobs, and we’ve started adding cookbook’s in test kitchen to Jenkins.

Chef 10.16.2 Released!

More patches, more love We’ve have a bug fix release for you today. Included are a couple fairly critical bug fixes for an issue with incorrect permissions with cookbook_file and remote_file on Windows. Also included is a whyrun fix for remote_directory.

Chef 10.16.0 Released!

We have a Chef release for you today and I’m personally pretty happy with keeping up release pace with community development. This release includes client-side support for collecting a summary of resource statistics on the total number of resources and number of resources updated in a run.

Test Kitchen 0.6.0 Released

We have released version 0.6.0 of Test Kitchen. Thanks to Eric Wolfe, this release decouples RVM, so runtimes must be specified explicitly to run integration tests. We felt that this would be the least surprising thing for the most common current use of test kitchen: testing cookbooks.

Chef 10.14.4 Released!

We have another patch release for 10.14 for you today. This release is mostly fixes to the deploy provider and the error inspectors. The usual Rubygems, Debian packages and Omnibus packages are all up. Kendrick Martin was really helpful with some debugging work this release and has really been improving the Windows cookbooks.
