Today we are announcing the end-of-life date of the standalone Chef Compliance Server product to be December 31, 2018. All of the functionality of Chef Compliance Server is already incorporated into Chef Automate 2 whose general availability we announced at ChefConf 2018.

Here’s what happened in June across the Chef, Habitat, and InSpec open-source communities. Chef This month we released Chef Client 14.2.0, the latest and greatest in the Chef 14 series.

We’ve had an exciting first half of the year at Chef. Between ChefConf last month and announcing Chef Automate 2.0 in addition to our updates to InSpec and the new Chef Workstation, it’s an exciting time for us.

Today we are excited to announce Chef’s support for Amazon Linux 2. Chef Automate delivers the most comprehensive automation platform spanning tasks from infrastructure to compliance all the way to applications. We do this using Chef, enabling infrastructure automation; InSpec, enabling compliance automation; and Habitat, enabling application automation.

Last month at ChefConf18 in Chicago, Chef CEO Barry Crist kicked off the proceedings with a provocative look at the state of the changes in digital transformation efforts, and asked the question to the crowd: “what comes afterwards?
