Ohai folks, Today we’ve released two new versions of Chef Client; 11.10.2 and 10.30.4. These releases include the fix for the recently reported security vulnerability in libyaml that is explained here.

We experienced a brief outage yesterday, and we are sorry about the inconvenience. We know how frustrating it can be when a chef-client cannot connect to the server.At 00:12 UTC the firewall configuration was modified to use TCP for syslog to keep syslog messages from being dropped/lost over UDP.

Chef is surging right now. As we announced yesterday: Total sales last year grew 188 percent over 2012. Our annual recurring revenue quadrupled. Nearly 70 percent of the sales came from Fortune 1000 organizations. European sales grew 400 percent YoY. The open source Chef Community grew more than 200 percent.
