We’re excited about this morning’s announcement at AWS re:Invent unveiling the new AWS OpsWorks for Chef Automate service. This service helps anyone get started quickly with Chef Automate in a low-risk low-friction way with all the benefits you’d expect from any native AWS service.

I am delighted to have joined over 200 people from all over the world that flocked to Cape Town, South Africa for the first ever DevOpsDays in South Africa! DevOpsDays Cape Town was held at the Doubletree Hotel in the Woodstock neighborhood of Cape Town. The conference opened on November 7th, 2016.

I’m pleased to announce two Chef vRA 7.0+ Blueprints for both Windows and Linux from Chef. They are basic, initial integrations, and have an example that demonstrates how to bootstrap the chef-client into a cataloged virtual machine.

Jessica DeVita and I recently had the pleasure of speaking at The Incredible Automation Day in Paris, France. TIAD has themes around learning to learn, experimentation, cloud, IoT, and de-automating ourselves. That last one, de-automating ourselves, was particularly intriguing to me. That concept can be taken several ways.

DevOps Enterprise Summit is a conference dedicated to helping individuals and companies navigate their DevOps journeys. Over 1300 DevOps practitioners (new and experienced alike) from organizations like Target, Disney, IBM and Walmart came together, November 13-15 in San Francisco, to share inspiring stories and cautionary tales.

DevOps in Nashville The Chef team was recently in Nashville as a silver sponsor at the first-ever DevOpsDays BNA (those who love airports will recognize the local 3 letter code). The event was held on November 10th and 11th, right downtown next to the honky tonks and Johnny Cash Museum.

During the webinar “Better Tools for a Better Life” I stressed the importance of code snippets to increase your efficiency. I found that two of the editors I used during the presentation, and in my every day practice, were lacking support for InSpec.
