Manage 1.20.1 is now available from the Chef downloads site. This release fixes a bug where unsolvable cookbook constraints led to unlimited queries against the Chef server in an infinite loop. This would cause high CPU usage on the workstation and increased queries against the server. For full details, see the issue report here.

Ohai Chefs, We are pleased to announce that Chef Reporting 1.5.1 is now available. This release improves the scalability and performance for customers running Chef Reporting for large infrastructures. What’s New? Chef Reporting 1.5.1 now offers performance improvements that are available in Chef Server 12.1.0 to reduce load on the reporting database.

Many Chef users are interested in security. To answer the questions you’ve raised, we’ve put a new article called “How to be a Secure Chef” in the Chef skills library. You’ll find suggestions for securing the Chef server, the Chef client, and your workstation.

Manage 1.20.0 is now available from the Chef downloads site. This release fixes the bug discovered in the previous 1.19.0 release. It is now possible to set the “`org_creation_enabled“` setting in manage.rb to turn off org creation from within Manage. For full details, see the Chef docs here.
