Chef Compliance 1.0 is now available from the Chef downloads site. This is a major release update which is recommended for all users of Chef Compliance.  We enhanced capabilities for Chef Compliance to enable automated management of compliance policies that are based on the broadly used Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks.

We’re excited to attend Microsoft’s Build 2016 conference in San Francisco this week. Microsoft is a great partner to Chef and we’re always looking for opportunities to show off how well our technologies work together. At Build, we’re announcing a new integration that will be released soon. Microsoft has an IT management solution called Operations Management Suite (OMS).

Today we released a refresh to our Chef Delivery tutorial on Learn Chef. The refresh features a simpler, automated setup procedure and greater emphasis on building the skills you need to get started with Chef Delivery. The automated setup, which runs on AWS, brings up a fully-functional Chef Delivery installation in minutes.

The volume of posts on our blog has continued to increase as our company and community have grown. While all of the content has been awesome, we’ve received many requests for a dedicated channel about security and release announcements.

On March 9th, I presented a live webinar on the Chef Workflow – a set of tools and a series of well-defined steps that support the DevOps principles of automation, collaboration and transparency. With the Chef workflow, you can progress from local development to collaboration across teams.

We are happy to announce a new ChefDK, version 0.12.0, has landed in the stable channel and is available for download on the Get Chef downloads site. There has not been much in the way of updates to the DK itself, but there have been updates to several of the dependent packages we bundle.
