Chef Fundamentals (3 Days) Chef Fundamentals is a three-day comprehensive class covering the basic architecture of Chef and all of the underlying components. We will be covering installation basics of Chef Client and Chef Solo. Other topics will include: creating Chef repositories, creating cookbooks and advanced using of the new command line utility called Knife.

Chef 0.9.6 Released Hot on the heels of 0.9.4, I’m happy to announce the release of Chef 0.9.6. Chef 0.9.6 fixes some bugs we introduced when we cleaned up our file loading code in 0.9.2, which caused `shef` to crash on start.

We are pleased to announce that the updated Debian/Ubuntu packages of Chef 0.9 have been posted to the new apt.opscode.com repository! Please be aware of the following changes in the packaging if you’re using the older 0.7 packages from Ubuntu 9.10/10.04 or the old apt.opscode.com. chef-server-slices is deprecated, and split into chef-server-api and chef-server-webui.

Chef 0.9.4 Released I’m happy to announce another release of Chef. This time around, we found a backwards compatibility issue right after publishing 0.9.2, so we’re moving on up to 0.9.4. These are bugfix releases that address the issues we’ve found since releasing 0.9.0 last week. Fixed in 0.9.
